What does the Minecraft pixel art converter do?

The converter maps a static PNG, JPEG, or WebP image to a Minecraft block design entirely in your browser. You choose the output Width and the supported blocks, generate a preview, review exact block and material counts, toggle the Grid, and download the result as a PNG.

How do I convert an image to Minecraft pixel art?

  1. 01

    Upload an image

Choose a static PNG, JPEG, or WebP image. Animated images and other formats are not supported.

  2. 02

    Choose the output width

Set a Width from 1 to 128 blocks. Height follows the source aspect ratio, so Width and Height are not edited independently.

  3. 03

    Choose Minecraft blocks

Pick from the 49 reviewed Concrete, Wool, and Terracotta blocks, or use the family shortcuts.

  4. 04

    Generate the pixel art

Create the preview and material counts from the final generated Minecraft Design.

  5. 05

    Review blocks and download

Check the Grid and counts, then save the generated pixel art as a PNG.

What does the output include?

Pixel art preview

A preview of the generated Minecraft block design with an optional Grid overlay. Grid changes only the preview, never the Design.

Block counts and materials

Exact totals for the generated design, including distinct materials, derived from the final Minecraft Design.

PNG download

One output pixel per Design cell. Empty cells are transparent, and the preview Grid is not included in the download.

Which Minecraft blocks are currently supported?

The current Pixel Art palette contains 49 reviewed blocks from the Concrete, Wool, and Terracotta families for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.5. Block availability is reviewed against official Minecraft Java Edition game data.

Does the image stay in my browser?

Yes. Image decoding, resizing, block mapping, preview, counts, and PNG generation run in your browser session. Source images are not uploaded to the application server by the core Pixel Art workflow.
